implant

The screws placed in place of the lost teeth with the aim of treatment are called implants. The main objective of dentistry is to replace the lost teeth as functioally and aesthetically similar to natural teeth. The implants are placed into the jawbone by a simple surgical procedure under local anesthesia.

The implant application may not be made or some preliminary preparations may be required in cases when the jaw bone structure is not feasible, in individuals with heart disease, in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, in patients with delayed injury healing problem and in individuals with drug or alcohol addiction.

The number of implants is planned according to the number of lost teeth and the state of the superstructure thought to be constructed. An implant for each tooth lost may be applied, as well as making a long bridge over two implants. If all of the teeth in the upper and lower jaws are lost, a fixed denture may be made by placing 6 or 8 implants.

Porcelain Veneers

One of the oldest methods used to eliminate the tooth losses is to make use of veneers. Although the use of implants has become widespread in current standards, the porcelain veneers also have advantages in some cases. Until recently, Biodental veneers were made, which are a kind of plastic over a metal infrastructure.
