Screwed Teeth

The first state of implant popularly known as the screwed teeth, is based on the Maya civilization. The archaeologists have encountered sea shells placed on the tooth extraction locations in the lower jawbone they found. And, this has revealed the fact that people needed to complete somehow their missing teeth throughout the history. After thousands of years, in 1950, implant studies have been started in the bones of rabbits, and it has been demonstrated that the bone can hold on artificial tooth roots. This is called osteointegration. The first dental implant was applied in 1952, and millions of implants have been used since then. Today's dental implants are manufactured from titanium, and their surfaces that have to fuse with the bone are processed with techniques developed uniquely by each company. The holding of the bone on the metal is provided by various operations such as acid etching, CNC machining, kumpa etching, and hydroxyapatite coating.

A detailed investigation is made in implant planning such as the bone structure, the patient's age, his overall health, and the state of the other teeth. An implant made under appropriate conditions can serve for many years. The implant operation is made under local anesthesia and is much simpler than tooth extraction. The patient can go to work the next day, if he cares for the caring after procedure. There may be swelling and pain in the area of implant for a few days. These complaints decrease and end in a few days. The gum is covered after surgical operation, and it is waited for 3-4 months. The osteointegration occurs at this stage, and the implant and jawbone fuse to each other. At the end of the waiting period, the superstructures are made within a week, and the patient regains his dentals.

Some investigators make the superstructures, i. e. the coatings, just after the application of implants. This is called Immediate Loading. Detailed planning may be made in this regard as a result of medical inspection.

The screws placed in place of the lost teeth with the aim of treatment are called implants. The main objective of dentistry is to replace the lost teeth as functioally and aesthetically similar to natural teeth. The implants are placed into the jawbone by a simple surgical procedure under local anesthesia.

Porcelain Veneers

One of the oldest methods used to eliminate the tooth losses is to make use of veneers. Although the use of implants has become widespread in current standards, the porcelain veneers also have advantages in some cases. Until recently, Biodental veneers were made, which are a kind of plastic over a metal infrastructure.
